Word origins

I love learning about the origins of words. We often just use words and don’t think that much about their origins. But when we learn the origins of words, we can see the logic that went behind them. Did you know that guard and warden come from the same root? “Warden” comes from Norman French, where “g” often changed into “w”. “William” is just a Norman version of “Guillaume”.
