Minangkabau

Minangkabau is an Austronesian language spoken by the Minangkabau people of West Sumatra. It is also spoken in the western part of Riau, South Aceh Regency, the northern part of Bengkulu and Jambi and in several cities through Indonesia. It is very similar to Malay, leading some to say Minangkabau is merely a dialect of Malay.
