A Dane and a Swede try to speak each other’s languages

Danish and Swedish are really similar. Denmark even ruled Sweden until the 1500s. When you look at them just from a writing point of view, they are really similar. The biggest difference betweren the two is that they have very different pronunciations. Swedish uses a pitch accent, where as Danish uses what is called stød which are kind of like little glottal stops that punctuate the sentence. It gives the language a very unique sound 🙂

Listening to native speakers is a good way to learn a language. They speak at a speed which is normal for native speakers and they speak with a normal accent. This is good for your learning as you are listening to the type of language that you would hear if you went to go live in that country, rather than listening to a poor imitation of it.
